What do I wear?

You can start your first few lessons in workout gear, however, when you start progressing you will need to wear shorts to enable you to grip with your skin. All lessons are done barefoot and no rings, bracelets, watches, necklaces, dangly earrings or dangly belly bars are to be worn.

I don't think i'm strong enough, can I do it?

Yes! Pole Fitness increases your strength! I was so weak when I first started but you'll find yourself getting stronger week by week.

Is there anything I should do before the lesson?

The only thing you should do is make sure you haven't moisterised in the last 24 hours or applied fake tan in the last 48 hours.  Lotions will not only weaken your grip but it will make it dangerous for other students and you may be asked to sit that class out.

Who can attend pole fitness classes?

As long as you are over 16 (16 and 17 years old will need parental permission), anyone can attend regardless of their gender, age or body shape.

What can I expect from a pole fitness class?

The first 10 minutes is a warm up to make sure your body is ready for exercise. The content of the class varies week by week and can depend on what level you are. Some lessons you will do conditioning, which is strength building exercises, some will be around splits stretching, and some may simply be just learning new spins and moves. The last 10 minutes will then be a cool down to make sure you're not hurting too much the next day!

Does pole fitness hurt?

As with all new fitness activities, you will be using your muscles in ways you won't be used to, so yes you might be a bit sore after. As you progress you will also likely get some bruises from your skin gripping the pole, but as you do the moves more the bruises will decrease. Soon you'll start to love your bruises (or pole kisses!) as they're a sign you've learnt something new and worked hard.

I'm nervous about attending...

Although this is not a question, it is something I hear a lot. And please don't be! If you want to attend with friends that's fine! But don't be afraid of coming alone. I've started at various classes by myself and you'll find that pole students are so friendly and supportive of each other. It's a safe environment where you will end up having lots of fun and creating new friendships.
